IWI’s Advocacy Team has recently launched and its focus will be both to educate the public on women’s human rights violations within the UK, as well as work to change and enforce policy to ensure women within the UK are able to take advantage of their human rights. In addition, the Advocacy Team will participate in developing and implementing grassroots campaigns aimed at informing the public on the experiences of women whose rights have been violated. As the Advocacy Team is currently being developed, check back soon for more news, or contact one of the team’s directors for more information.
IWI’s Safe Birthing Programme Team is the hallmark of IWI. The SBP is the reason why IWI was formed, and has grown into a successful programme that is currently being expanded, and the SBP team is responsible for this growth. With this dedicated team, the number of women and children helped will be sizeable.
The Safe Birthing Programme enables women to access their fundamental rights to reproductive healthcare. In addition to community outreach, one element of the programme is the distribution of birthing kits to local health centres to increase sanitation practices for mothers during birth.
