As Executive Director, CEO and Founder of International Women’s Initiative, Aubrey brings more than twenty years experience in the fight for equal gender rights. As a recognised social change practitioner and expert in women’s human rights with a passion for progressive work, Aubrey has worked tirelessly in the fight for equal rights for women globally. Aubrey leads IWI's combined strategy of community-based partnerships and international women’s human rights advocacy. Previous to IWI Aubrey worked for seven years to ensure that women had continued legal access to abortions. Initially working as a patient escort to ensure that patients were able to enter the abortion facility of Dr George Tiller without harassment from pro-life protesters, Aubrey later became a devoted member of Dr Tiller’s staff.
Coupling her expertise with her extensive activism on global women’s human rights and US foreign policy, Aubrey helps the dedicated staff of IWI to develop strategies to build movements for social justice and human rights as it effects women. Aubrey holds a BGS in Women’s Studies and Criminal Justice, as well as a MLA in International Policy.
